Active on the soundsystem scene from the early 80s, and producing since at least 1990, he has one of the most distinctive signature styles in all of UK soundsystem culture. Jah Warrior has worked with countless reggae greats from Horace Andy to Jah Mason, Peter Broggs to Tena Stelin. Recently his “Dub From The Heart” reissue on the Honest Jon’s label re/introduced Jah Warrior to a new generation of electronic dubheads worldwide.

“African King” and its corresponding dub version are powerful, driving, solemn and dread steppers cuts as mighty as anything previously produced by Jah Warrior. Deftly mixed by the legendary Russ Disciple at Disciples studio, the A side is a 4/4 stormer full of captivating melody, while the B strips it all back to revel in amazing space, depth and clarity.
